Running smaller, hands on and customised cooking classes from her French farmhouse kitchen in Pokolbin is an ultimate culmination of her passion and experience. With a passion for seasonal produce Joanne often uses estate grown ingredients and has a relaxed and fluid approach to cooking that reflects in the style of bespoke classes held at Thistle Hill.

Make your own way to Thistle Hill at 591 Hermitage Rd in Pokolbin,  or our Complimentary Shuttle can pick you up from Broadmeadow Train Station at 10.00 am.

Nestled inside the Sugarloaf Range State Conservation area in Brunkerville, and on the doorstep of the Hunter Valley Vineyards and Lake Macquarie, Old Brush is a picture perfect natural wildlife sanctuary.

The property comprises 20 acres of verdant grounds populated by small copses of native trees, fruit trees, flowering shrubs, manicured hedgerows, grassed areas, grassy reeds,  tall eucalyptus and a working vineyard. There is plenty of birdlife and great photo opportunities, especially around the dam where birds congregate.

Nestled at the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges, in the heart of the Hunter vineyards, you will find the magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens – over 60 acres of spectacular international display gardens that will amaze you with sensational sights, colours, fragrances and adventures.

Exploring over 8 kilometres of walking paths, visitors are able to experience each of the ten individual feature gardens with a range of statuary and superb feature gardens, all of a standard you won’t see elsewhere in Australia. Throughout the summer period, the famous Christmas Lights feature over 1.5 million lights every night – a fairy wonderland.

 

Time to Bid Farewell

Our Shuttle takes us back to Thistle Hill where we say au revoir.

 Self drivers will then head home or onto their next destination. For those departing from Broadmeadow Station, our Shuttle will drop you at the station by 4:00PM.
